Welcome to Adventurous Egg. I love restaurants, I love the expectation of food, I love the still or sparkling, the linen napkins, people watching and that first delicious mouthful when you know you’re onto a good thing. I have eaten in lots of restaurants; high end, low rent and enjoyed most of them, you can never say all. I love steak tartare made at the table and a drippy egg and bacon sandwich equally. Sometimes though when you are at a restaurant, and everyone has ordered there is still that one thing on the menu that nobody ordered but everybody wants and that is where ‘and one for the table’ comes in. It sorts out the ordering dilemma (and slight panic at missing out). Should I order the ham croquettas or the chicken liver parfait? I really want to try the pigs head fritters but not enough to miss out on the asparagus and hollandaise, oh Lordy they are coming to take the order I need to make up my mind now! You choose your favourite item and so do your companions, that’s when you order the pigs head fritters for the table; everyone gets a taste and tranquility is restored.
